The Liberty Trail is a 28 mile walk from the top of Ham Hill to
the beach at Lyme Regis and follows the route the local villagers
took in 1685 to join the Monmouth Rebellion. Along the way learn
about local lives and the history of the area. The trail has been
divided in to six easy sections or complete the whole route in a
couple of days, either way make sure that take time to fully
appreciate the history and landscape.
This route was established a number of years ago, and some of
the details many no longer be correct, please use in conjunction
with a current OS map which are on sale at the South Somerset
Visitor Information Centre at Cartgate on the A303.
