Liberty Trail


The Liberty Trail is a 28 mile walk from the top of Ham Hill to the beach at Lyme Regis and follows the route the local villagers took in 1685 to join the Monmouth Rebellion. Along the way learn about local lives and the history of the area. The trail has been divided in to six easy sections or complete the whole route in a couple of days, either way make sure that take time to fully appreciate the history and  landscape.

This route was established a number of years ago, and some of the details many no longer be correct, please use in conjunction with a current OS map which are on sale at the South Somerset Visitor Information Centre at Cartgate on the A303.
